A Revelation
Thu Mar 05, 2020 5:19 am
At this point, Callie had been living in San Fransokyo for quite a while now. Honestly it was starting to feel like a real home, she had got to grips with the layout of pretty much the whole city at this point with all the exploring she did. Though, there was one thing that had caught her attention today that she usually didn't think too much on, something in particular that was very close to herself. Something she figured was more normal here since it hadn't been an issue like it was back home, but... People still looked at her funny sometimes.
She'd first noticed this a couple days ago, usually this sorta thing didn't bother her but this time... This time she took notice. Why? Well, she wasn't entirely sure on that herself, but now she was subconsciously noticing more and more people who gave her strange looks as she walked the streets. It couldn't be because she was young and out on her own right? She was a proper teenager now! That was normal, right? Hmm... Perhaps it was Terra they were really looking at? There was a definite lack of other people who walked around with foxes hanging off their shoulders. That had to be it.
The girl would nod to herself, her tail flicking softly behind her and her ears twitching slightly as she heard the far off sound of a cars horn honking. Wait a minute...
The young vixen paused mid step, her face scrunched up a little as she stared off into nothingness. Her typical over the top look she'd give when she was thinking way too hard about even the simplest of things. N-no... No one else here had a tail or ears like her... Did they? She'd ponder this revelation as if it was truly an amazing break through of a thought she'd never had before. If they didn't, then... Why was she told that she didn't have to hide them when they moved to live here? Why has no one said anything weird about them? No ones questioned their existence or seemed very phased by them...
In reality, it was because the people here just thought they were mechanical. It was San Fran after all, robotics could do a lot around here, not that she understood that at all.
A slow foot forward was all she needed to bump straight into someone and knock her out of her trance like thoughts. "O-oh! Hello. I, uh, I mean, thanks. No, not that. Wait, uh, sorry! That's, yes. That one. The sorry one. I uh, eheh, wasn't fully, uh... Ahem." The girl would quite clearly fake cough, shake her head and stand herself up straight with a deep breath out. "Lemme start over. Sorry for bumping into you! I was a million miles away, hehe."
